Two weeks ago, Rebels came together for our firstt unforgettable Karaoke Night we’ve ever hosted—and it’s still being talked about! 🎤✨
From power ballads to hilarious throwback anthems, the stage was full of talent, laughter, and some unexpected surprises. Get to know a staff member
his week, we’re spotlighting ItsChefAG, one of the dedicated staff members helping to keep Rebel Vibez Gaming running smoothly. Known for their steady presence in the community, Chef brings both creativity and reliability to the table (pun intended 🍳). Whether it’s lending a hand in events, supporting members, or just vibing in chat, ItsChefAG is a big part of what makes the Rebel family feel like home.
We caught up with Chef to learn more about the person behind the gamertag. Here are some questions we asked (and ones you might hear on a future podcast episode):
Me=Non-Bold
ItsChefAG=Bold
What first brought you into the Rebel Vibez Gaming community?
My good friend, Raiden was the one to introduce me to the RVG community, although he isnt there anymore i chose to stick around based on how i connected with the other members and its been a movie ever since.
What’s your favorite part about being on staff here?
My favorite part is how it feels like being apart of another family, theres days people may not agree but end of the day we joke and laugh and make sure we are all good.
Where did the name “ItsChefAG” come from? Is there a story behind it?
So being prior military, I have a last name that many struggled to pronounce and my friend who was known for giving nicknames use to just use the first 2 letters of a name and thats the nickname, hence where A.G comes from, and the Chef is because i was a Culinary Arts major at one point and i still love to cook
If you could cook one dish that represents your gaming style, what would it be and why?
id say it would have to be my special sweet and spicy crispy chicken wrap, and youll see it when i play, like a wrap you get a lil of everything, the sweet, the spicy, just all put together, some bites have the good and bad
What’s your go-to game when you just want to relax?
i usually go to EA Sports FC 25, Soccer games have always been my go to relaxing game,
What’s your most memorable gaming moment—either with Rebel Vibez or outside of it?
My most memorable gaming moment would probably be winning in Marvel Rivals with Team Alpha during the Rebel Vibes Cup. Being the team that people thought werent going to do anything, as like a last minute put together team and clean sweeping all the other teams.
If you had to build your dream squad with any three people (real, fictional, or in-game), who would you pick?
I always love these questions because it can bring so much debate, but id say Goku from DBZ(Dragon Ball Z) as my number 1 choice, then id go with Sasuke Uchiha(Naruto), and lastly Deadpool, because everyone needs that humor/plot armor
What advice would you give to new members joining the Rebel Vibez community?
Just take your time and be yourself, Youll find your place in no time, the wonderful people of RVG are always welcoming whether youre use to bring apart of a community or brand new.
Do you see yourself as more competitive or casual when it comes to gaming?
I like my casual gaming time a lot, but when the time is needed i become very competitive and take any game seriously, whether its R6 or Sims I shall win!!!!
And finally… if you could create your own “Drunknite” style game mode, what would it be called?
id go with something like “Take Shots while being shot”, or Respawn and Refill, Shots or be Shot, I think the whole DrunkNite thing is amazing!
gamer of the week
This week, the spotlight shines on Cobra, a Rebel who’s been making waves in the community with their energy, dedication, and nonstop good Vibez!
Whether it’s clutching up in game nights, keeping the chat alive with positivity, or just being a reliable teammate when the pressure’s on, Cobra has shown exactly what it means to represent Rebel Vibez Gaming. Their mix of skill, humor, and community spirit makes them stand out both in and out of the lobby.
Cobra’s consistency, support for fellow Rebels, and ability to keep the fun going are exactly why they’ve earned this week’s title. Big respect to Cobra for embodying what the Gamer of the Week is all about—community, good sportsmanship, and pure Rebel energy.
Make sure to congratulate Cobra when you see them around, and maybe even squad up—you never know when you’ll witness another Gamer of the Week moment in action.
👏 Congrats, Cobra—you’ve earned it!
random fact
Today, the PlayStation brand is one of the biggest names in gaming history. From the iconic PS1 startup sound to the groundbreaking graphics of the PS5, Sony’s consoles have become a cornerstone of modern gaming. But here’s the twist: the PlayStation was never supposed to exist—not in the way we know it.
Back in the early 1990s, Sony wasn’t even a competitor in the video game market. Instead, they were working with Nintendo, who dominated the industry at the time. The two companies teamed up to create a CD-ROM add-on for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). This project was nicknamed the “Nintendo Play Station.”
The plan was simple: Nintendo would handle the gaming side, and Sony would provide the CD technology. It was supposed to combine cartridges with a cutting-edge CD drive, giving developers more space for larger, more advanced games. Things were looking promising—prototypes were even built.
But in 1991, at the Consumer Electronics Show, Nintendo shocked the industry. Instead of announcing their partnership with Sony, they revealed a new collaboration with Philips. The deal with Sony was over. Sony executives were blindsided, and the project collapsed overnight.
Most companies might have walked away at that point. But Sony didn’t. Instead, they doubled down on their investment and decided to develop their own console. In 1994, the first Sony PlayStation launched in Japan, and the rest is history. The console sold over 100 million units, becoming the first gaming system to hit that milestone. Games like Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Gran Turismo helped redefine what video games could be—cinematic, ambitious, and built for a global audience.
To this day, only a handful of the original Nintendo–Sony prototypes still exist, and they’ve become some of the rarest pieces of gaming hardware ever discovered. One sold at auction in 2020 for over $360,000.
It’s wild to imagine: if that partnership had succeeded, the PlayStation brand we know today might never have been born. Instead, Sony went from being a side partner in Nintendo’s plans to becoming one of the most dominant forces in gaming history.
song of the week
This week’s spotlight goes to “Spectre” by Bad Omens, the band’s brand-new single that’s already making waves in the rock and alternative scene.
“Spectre” brings that signature Bad Omens sound—dark, atmospheric, and hauntingly powerful. With crushing instrumentals paired with emotionally charged vocals, the song hits that perfect balance between raw energy and eerie beauty. It’s the kind of track that makes you want to sink into the music while also pushing you to go harder, whether you’re gaming, grinding through the week, or just vibing late at night.
What makes Spectre stand out is the mood it creates. The lyrics echo themes of inner struggle, identity, and resilience—fitting perfectly with the Rebel Vibez mindset of facing challenges head-on and turning adversity into strength.
As their latest release, Spectre proves Bad Omens isn’t slowing down anytime soon, continuing to deliver music that resonates deeply with fans old and new.
So plug in, turn it up, and let Spectre set the tone for your week. Whether you’re in the middle of a high-stakes match or just chilling with the community, this track is guaranteed to leave a mark.
